FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI PENYAPIHAN ASI DI BAWAH USIA 2 TAHUN PADA BAYI

Abstract

Weaning is the process of stopping breastfeeding gradually or all at once. According to data from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), 75% of the world's children receive breast milk until the age of 17 months, and 35% of children receive breast milk until the age of 24 months. In Indonesia, the percentage of children who receive breast milk until the age of 1 year is 74.7%, and those who receive breast milk until the age of 2 years is 54.7%. The aim of this research was to determine the factors that influence breast milk weaning under the age of 2 years in babies in the UPTD work area of ​​the Penanggalan Community Health Center, Penanggalan District, Subulussalam City in 2024.This research is correlational analytical with a cross-sectional design using primary and secondary data. The population in this study were all babies in the UPTD Working Area of ​​the Penanggalan Community Health Center, Penanggalan District, Subulussalam City, with a sampling technique using simple random sampling, totaling 75 respondents. The measuring instrument used is a questionnaire. The results of research using Chi-Square with a confidence level of 95% resulted in the knowledge factor with a p-value (0.000<0.05), maternal education factor (0.003<0.05) and employment factor (0.114>0.05). So it can be concluded that knowledge and education factors can influence breast milk weaning in babies under 2 years of age, while employment factors do not influence breast milk weaning in babies under 2 years of age. It is hoped that mothers can provide input and additional information to find out about what age babies should be weaned from breast milk and can increase mothers' knowledge about weaning breast milk from babies.
