Pengembangan Pasar Rakyat Dadapan
Abstract
Traditional markets play a crucial role as centers of local economic activity and as spaces for social interaction. However, many traditional markets face challenges such as limited infrastructure, cleanliness, spatial planning, and suboptimal management. This study aims to assess the existing condition of Dadapan Traditional Market, analyze development needs, and assess the impact of revitalization. The research method used a qualitative descriptive approach through field observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation studies. The results indicate that development of Dadapan Traditional Market is essential, particularly in its physical aspects (building improvements, spatial planning, and public facilities), economic aspects (strengthening MSMEs and increasing vendor turnover), socio-cultural aspects (enhancing community interaction and preserving the traditional market's identity), and management aspects (modernizing the management and retribution system). Positive impacts of this market development include increased community economic activity, the creation of a cleaner and more organized market environment, and the strengthening of the traditional market's image as a competitive traditional trade center. Therefore, the revitalization of Dadapan Traditional Market is expected to make a sustainable contribution to overall regional development.
