Abstract

The need for affordable and functional rental housing continues to increase with population growth and urbanization in Indonesia. Boarding houses have become one of the most popular forms of housing, particularly in educational areas and economic centers. The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the building planning and design process through collaboration between online drafters and architects (DOAR). This article aims to discuss the application of the DOAR concept in the planning process of a two-story boarding house in Lamongan, currently in the planning stage. The research uses case study methods and descriptive analysis. The results show that the DOAR approach can improve time and cost efficiency, accelerate cross-regional communication, and facilitate the application of energy-efficient tropical architectural principles. These findings have implications for public literacy regarding the use of digital technology in designing simple buildings that adapt to today's urban needs.
