AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Journal of Health Care (JOHC)


General Information

Journal of Health Care (JOHC) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by Universitas Muhammadiyah Lamongan. JOHC publishes original research articles and scholarly studies in the field of health and health care services. Submitted manuscripts must be original, have not been previously published, and must not be under consideration by any other journal.


Focus and Scope

JOHC publishes scientific articles that contribute to the development of knowledge, professional practice, and policy in the field of health, including but not limited to:

Health care services (hospitals, clinics, and primary health centers)Public health
Health management and administration
Patient safety
Health policy and health systems
Health promotion and disease prevention
Quality of health care services


3. Types of Articles

JOHC accepts the following types of manuscripts:

Original Research Articles
Review Articles
Case Studies


Language

Manuscripts may be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English using clear, accurate, and academic language.


Manuscript Structure and Formatting

Authors are required to use the official JOHC manuscript template. The manuscript must be organized as follows:

a. Article Title

Concise, clear, and representative of the research content
Written in Arial font, size 14, bold

b. Authors’ Names and Affiliations

Full names of authors without academic titles
Affiliations should include institution, faculty/department, university, province, and country
Email address of the corresponding author must be provided

c. Abstract

Written in a single paragraph
Contains a brief background, objectives, methods, main results, and conclusion
Length: 150–250 words
No citations are allowed in the abstract

d. Keywords

Consist of 3–5 keywords or phrases
Separated by commas


Manuscript Content

INTRODUCTION

The introduction should present the research background, research problems, objectives, and scientific contribution of the study. Research implications may be included as an optional part.

METHODS

This section describes the research design, subjects or objects of the study, population and sample, data collection techniques and instruments, and data analysis methods. Hypothesis testing should be included if applicable.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

This section presents research findings systematically, including characteristics of respondents or research objects, data analysis results, and key findings.
The discussion should interpret the results and relate them to relevant theories and previous studies. Subheadings may be used if necessary.

CONCLUSION

The conclusion summarizes the main findings of the study and may include implications, limitations, and suggestions for future research.


Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be numbered and titled clearly
Table titles should be placed above the tables
Data sources should be provided when necessary
Tables and figures must be cited in the text


Citations and References

In-text citations use the author–date format, including the author’s last name and year of publication
Examples: (Bray & Sturman, 2001) or (Tseng et al., 2004)
References must be listed alphabetically by the author’s last name or institution name
Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software (Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote)
Only references cited in the manuscript should be included
At least 80% of references must be journal articles

The reference format must follow the examples provided in the official JOHC template.


Publication Ethics

JOHC upholds publication ethics and follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors are responsible for:

The originality and integrity of the manuscript
Proper citation and authorship attribution
Disclosure of any potential conflicts of interest
Any suspected ethical misconduct will be handled in accordance with COPE guidelines.


Policy on the Use of Generative AI

The use of Generative AI is permitted only for technical assistance, such as language editing. Generative AI must not be used to generate research data, analysis, interpretation, or scientific conclusions. Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscripts.


Submission and Peer Review Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the JOHC Online Journal System (OJS)
All manuscripts undergo a peer-review process
Final publication decisions are made by the Editor


Editorial Note

Manuscripts that do not comply with the Author Guidelines and JOHC Template will be returned to authors for revision prior to further processing.
