Abstrak

Increasing life demands and activity dynamics due to industrial development in Banjarsari Permai Housing have the potential to trigger stress. Morning jogging is considered a physical activity that may help reduce community stress levels. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between morning jogging habits and stress levels among residents of Banjarsari Permai Housing. This study used a descriptive analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 60 respondents selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire–Short Form (IPAQ-SF) and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10). Data analysis was conducted using the Spearman Rank correlation test with a significance level of 0.05. Most respondents experienced moderate stress (50.0%) and had moderate morning jogging habits (51.7%). The analysis showed a significant and very strong negative relationship between morning jogging habits and stress levels (r = -0.989; p = 0.000). The higher the morning jogging habit, the lower the community stress level. Morning jogging is associated with reduced stress levels and may serve as an adaptive coping strategy in maintaining community mental health through physiological and psychological mechanisms.
