EFEKTIVITAS WARM COMPRESS TERHADAP NYERI PUNGGUNG PADA IBU HAMIL DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS DARUL IMARAH KABUPATEN ACEH BESAR
Abstract
Back pain in pregnant women happens not only because of hormonal changes but also because the uterus gets bigger. This growth causes the shoulders to be pulled back due to the larger belly, making it harder to keep balance. As a result, the spine curves too much, causing back pain. Almost half of the pregnant women who seek medical help around 117 women (31.9%) experience back pain. Many of these women do not know about simple, drug-free ways to relieve this pain, like using warm compresses. This study aimed to find out how effective warm compresses are in reducing back pain in pregnant women in the Darul Imarah Health Center area in Aceh Besar Regency. The study used a one-group pretest-posttest design with a sample of 20 pregnant women in their third trimester who had back pain. They used warm compresses for 7 days. The data was analyzed using SPSS software and a paired sample T-test. The results showed that using warm compresses can reduce back pain in pregnant women, with an average pain reduction of 13.20 and a P-value of 0.000*. Therefore, it can be concluded that warm compresses are effective in reducing back pain in pregnant women, and this method should be shared and used more widely.
