DETERMINAN PERILAKU BIDAN DALAM MELAKUKAN PIJAT BAYI DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS DARUL IMARAH KABUPATEN ACEH BESAR

Abstract

Baby massage is the oldest therapy which is also a practiced art of health care and medicine. Midwives have the authority to carry out baby massages, but several midwives in the Darul Imarah Community Health Center work area rarely carry out baby massages and let the baby's parents take their babies to non-health workers. The aim of the research is to determine the factors related to the behavior of midwives in carrying out baby massage at the Darul Imarah Community Health Center, Aceh Besar Regency in 2022. This type of research is analytical with a Cross-sectional approach. Sampling was taken using a Total sampling technique of 80 midwives. Data collection used a questionnaire and data analysis using the Chi-square test. The results of the study showed that as many as 36 midwives who had sufficient knowledge about baby massage mostly behaved poorly in implementing baby massage (58.3%). A total of 42 midwives with negative attitudes in carrying out baby massage mostly behaved less well (83.4%). There is a relationship between knowledge and the behavior of midwives in carrying out baby massage with ρ value= 0.008 (α<0.05). There is a relationship between the attitude and behavior of midwives in carrying out baby massage with ρ value= 0.000 (α<0.05). It is hoped that the results of this research can provide input for community health center leaders to hold promotional programs in the community, especially those in the work area of ​​the community health center regarding the implementation of baby massage by midwives, as well as developing midwives so that midwives can partner with non-health workers during baby massage activities in the village.
